Speech & Debate
Meet the Speech & Debate Coaching Staff
The Speech and Debate Team is a co-curricular activity that provides opportunities for students who are interested in competitive debate, speech, and active events to develop their skills while competing on the National level. Students develop strong individual and small group performances, communication skills, creative problem-solving, research skills, confidence, organizational skills, and excellent time management skills.
Theatre
Theatre is an activity with a place for everyone! Students do not have to be enrolled in theatre courses to participate in productions or join the Thespian Club. We produce three shows a year: fall musical, winter children's show, and spring play. Through participation in theatre students not only gain an appreciation for the art but also valuable life skills. Students are welcome to participate in either acting, technical theatre, or both. There is no participation fee associated with being part of productions, however, students are sometimes asked to help provide portions of their wardrobe (Ex. black clothes for techies or jeans needed for their character in a show).

Thespian Club:
Thespian Club is a student-led organization that celebrates all things theatre. They go on various field trips to see shows, participate in festivals, and attend Missouri State Thespian Convention. Students who join the Thespian Club and participate in theatre are able to join the International Thespian Society and have access to scholarship opportunities. All are welcome to join and the Thespian Club meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 2:45-3:30 pm in Mrs.Bolin’s room.
