2023 Graduation Information

2023 WCHS Commencement Information

  • The commencement ceremony will be held on Friday May 19th, 7:00pm, at Cardinal Stadium.  Gates will open at 5:30pm.

  • All seniors should report to the Boy’s gym in the high school NO LATER than 6:15pm.

  • All spectators should enter through the main/west entrance of the stadium by the ticket booth, or through the handicap entrance.  The ONLY entrance for an inside ceremony will be the main entrance to the Dome.

  • We have been monitoring the weather frequently, along with many of you.  We have been and will remain in contact with the National Weather Service to ensure we make the best decision possible regarding the graduation location. (Stadium or Dome)  Every effort will be made to have the graduation ceremony outside. However, in the event that there appears to be severe weather or substantial rainfall around the time of the ceremony, we will be forced to move the ceremony inside to the dome.

  • The administration will make a decision as soon as possible regarding a stadium or dome graduation ceremony and notify students as well as parents at that time.

Ticket Information (Only needed if the ceremony is moved inside, due to weather)

  • Six tickets have been given to each graduate.  (Tickets are identified with numbers and these numbers are recorded to each graduate's name) 

  • The six tickets will permit entry into the dome area to view the commencement ceremony.  Individuals without a ticket, WILL NOT be allowed into the Dome area.

    • The number of tickets distributed is based upon the number of graduates for this year, and the Dome’s seating capacity.

    • If the ceremony is held in the dome, the ceremony will be streamed into Barton Auditorium and the Dome cafeteria.
      (Tickets are not required for Barton Auditorium or the Dome Cafeteria)

      • Barton Auditorium’s seating capacity is 945 and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Entry for an inside ceremony will be through the front dome entrance.

  • Children 3 and under do not require a ticket.

Streaming of Graduation Ceremony

Cardinal Stadium - Commencement Ceremony Seating

  • Seating for a commencement ceremony at Cardinal Stadium will be on a first come, first served basis.  Seating will be offered in the following locations:

    • Home bleachers

    • Visitor bleachers

    • Home side (track**)

    • Visitor side (track**)
       

   ** Six family members per row and one row per family, if sitting in the track seating

Handicap Entrance/Seating (Cardinal Stadium)

  • There will be additional handicap parking available on the south side of the field, behind the dome.

  • The handicap entrance is located on the West side of the stadium, just to the North of the main stadium entrance.

  • Seating on the track will be available for those families with handicap accommodations needed, or there will also be handicap seating available on the front row of the home bleachers, as normal.

Dome - Commencement Ceremony Seating

  • Seating for a commencement ceremony in the Dome will be on a first come, first served basis, but a ticket will be required for entry into the Dome seating area. (Each graduate received 6)

  • Handicap seating is available in the mezzanine area around the Dome track.

Additional Information

  • Please refrain from going on the field/court before, during, and after the ceremony.

  • Seniors will exit Cardinal Stadium or the Dome after the ceremony and seniors can meet their parents in the stands or outside the stadium after the conclusion of the ceremony.
