College Visit and Job Shadow Instructions

COLLEGE VISITS

Seniors are allowed two excused days for college visits, Juniors are allowed one. College visit days do not count against the student or cause them not to be finals exempt as long as the following steps are taken.

The following steps must be taken
in order for the day to be excused:

  1. Set up the college visit either by going to the college website or calling the collegeadmissions office.
  2. Once date is set, go to counselor’s office for paperwork needed for out of town card.
  3. Paperwork must be signed by student, parent and counselor.
  4. Signed paperwork from counselors goes to the main office who will provide the out oftown card.
  5. The out of town card should be signed by each teacher for the day the student will beabsent and turned back into the main office.
  6. The paperwork issued from counseling office will be taken on the college visit andshould be signed or stamped by a representative from the college.
  7. When student returns to school, the signed/stamped paperwork must be turned into the main office in order for the day to be excused.

 

JOB SHADOWING

Seniors and Juniors are allowed one excused job shadowing day. This day will not count against the student or cause them not to be finals exempt as long as the following steps are taken.

The following steps must be taken
in order for the day to be excused:

  1. Set up the job shadow with the employer.
  2. Go to counseling center to for the job shadow paperwork which needs to be signed by student and parent.
  3. Take the paperwork to the main office to be issued an out of town card.
  4. The out of town card should be signed by each of the teacher for the day the student will be absent and turned back into the main office.
  5. The paperwork issued from the counseling office should be taken to the job shadow to be signed by the employer.
  6. When the student returns to school, the signed paperwork must be turned into the main office in order for the day to be excused.
