Meet our Administrators

Mr. Shawn Mayes, Principal
Mr. Mayes WCHS Principal

Mr. Mayes served as assistant principal at Webb City High School since 2009. Prior to becoming principal at Webb City High School this year he began his teaching career at Joplin R-8 School District where he served as an elementary physical education teacher. He spent his first 4 years at Joplin and then came to the Webb City R-7 School District where he taught elementary physical education for 5 years. Mr. Mayes is also a 1996 graduate of WCHS. He received a bachelor’s degree from MSSU in 2001. He earned a masters degree from William Woods University; and a specialist degree for Southwest Baptist University. He is married and has 2 children. 


Ms. Tamara Ponce, Assistant Principal

Ms. Ponce has served as Assistant Principal for Webb City High School since 2011 and taught Social Studies for WCHS from 2003-2011.  She has earned a Bachelors degree in Social Studies Education, a Masters degree in United States History, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Pittsburg State University.  She has two children, both of whom attend Webb City Schools.


 Mr. Jonathan Wengert, Assistant Principal

Mr. Wengert is in his first year as assistant principal here at Webb City High School after serving in the same position at Neosho High School for the previous five years. He has worked as a physical education, health teacher and coach for ten years before getting into administration. He received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. He earned a master's degree in education administration from William Woods University and a specialist degree in educational leadership from William Woods University as well. He has been married for 16 years and has 1 child with 1 on the way in December.

Mrs. Eggleston is in her first year as an assistant principal at WCHS.  She has taught Business and Marketing at WCHS for fifteen years, and has served as district Public Relations for the last three years.  She graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a bachelor's of Science in Business Administration.  She graduated from William Woods University with a Master's in Educational Leadership.  Amanda is married to Brandon Eggleston and they have three children.
